I remember sharing classes and laughs with Gail, and I remember being impressed with her maturity, as she was far more lady-like than I have ever been! At that young age, she was crazy about Mark, and knew that he was the one for her. I heard that she had passed away - I think it was 5-10 years ago, from ovarian cancer (I believe), leaving behind 3 children and her husband, Mark.

Oh my God... I am so sorry to hear that Gail passed away from ovarian cancer. That is such a silent and scary cancer. After having breast cancer, I had my ovaries removed as a precaution because it is such a life threatening disease and so hard to diagnose before it's too late. I am so sorry for her family. I just hope that reasearch continues so that this can be prevented for other young women in the future...our daughters and granddaughters. May God bless her and her family.

I am very sorry that cancer has taken her life. I use to live on the same street as her. If anyone is in contact with her family please tell them how sorry I am, about losing Gail.

Gail was a terrific baton twirler! We both took lessons from DonnaLynn Carlson, Betsy Brown, and Edie Mickel. We were both on the team at Media Jr. High and at Penncrest. I dropped out of twirling after 9th grade, but Gail stayed on.
Gail had the best smile and she worked really hard to learn the routines. She was really, really good, and she was a wonderful, sweet person. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. Sleep in heavenly peace, Gail.
Sincerey,
Sharon (Teeple) Rafferty

Recently, I became a guest member of the '73 Penncrest HS website because for the first 14 years of my life, I went to church in Media with several in the class. (At age 5, I moved to Havertown but my parents had lived in Media for years and were very connected with the church so we remained members.)  Anyway, Gail and I were very good church buddies and we were confirmed together.  On many occasions, I remember going to her house after church and spending the day playing with dolls, listening to music, and having wonderful dinners.  Yesterday, I spoke with her mother who remembered me and we talked about old times. I think it was cathartic for both of us.  Since I had moved to the Midwest at age 14, I really didn't keep steady contact with the kids from earlier childhood.  Now, I regret that.  I am sure Gail was a wonderful wife and mother.  In my formative years, she was a wonderful and loyal friend and came from a wonderful family.  (If you go to the history of Reformation Lutheran Church, you can read that her father helped raise a lot of money for church causes in the 1980s. )
