Dorothy (Dottie) King Hicks

I have lived in Washington State since 1978 so it feels like home although my heartstrings are definately still attached to Media!
My husband's family business was oyster farming on Eld inlet at the southern most point of Puget Sound. Although my husband has not worked in the business as a career, we have been fortunate to to live on the bay. It is quite beautiful.
As our children were growing up, I stayed home, worked some in the family business and substitute taught. I have now been working full time as a teacher for the past 15 years and truly enjoy it. My husband was an attorney in private practice and is now a WA State Superior Court Judge.
Our oldest daughter, Emily lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband, Nick, and son, Jasper. They both work in enviromental fields. Our daughter Rachael is married to Jim with daughter, Maya, and is a nurse living in the Olympia area. My husband has an older daughter, Allison, who lives in Michigan with whom we have two grandchildren, John and Caitlin, now in college!
