Jamie and her family came to Media when we were in sixth grade. Prior to that I knew their family all my life as Jamie's father worked with my father in Long Island, NY. Back then we were big on hikes in the woods, swimming and Beatles music. Our families always got together for 4th of July celebrations.
It was great when they all lived within a couple of miles instead of a 100 miles. My friends became their friends. Jamie's mom and dad were the best. Her brother Rob and I were close and were in boy scouts together. Jamie lived on Farnum road then and were next door neighbors with the Byerly twins.
Later Jamie and I were at Penn State main campus and we would spend some afternoons just chillin and remembering our childhoods.
We saw Chet and Jamie once at a class reunion. Later in life we drifted apart and really only heard about each other through parents. That is common but still sad.
Oh my...sweet Jamie. I remember when Media and Rosetree merged. I was on of the new kids on the Rostree Media block. Jamie was so sweet to me. We will all miss her loving smile!
